Diploma Programme

Would you like to become a knowledgeable, caring, communicative critical thinker and a world citizen?

Then the IB Diploma Programme is something for you!

The programme focuses on developing thinking skills, communication skills, social skills and research skills when learning in a close-knit internationally minded learning community.

We go more in depth in the six subjects chosen by the student than the national system. All subjects have a two-year cycle. We do research in all subjects. Critical thinking is integrated in all subjects as well as being a subject on its own (Theory of Knowledge). Your teacher is your mentor and the class’ learning partner when preparing for externally assessed exams after your two years. Communication skills are developed so that we learn to communicate our knowledge.

All subjects are taught in English and we follow internationally recognized syllabi. The IB Diploma is valued and recognized by universities worldwide.

You can apply to the IB Diploma Programme after Norwegian “VG1 studieforberedende” or at the age of 17 for foreign educations.

International Baccalaureate (IB) diplomprogram er et tilbud som erstatter de to siste årene på studiespesialiserende. Det vil si at det bygger på vg1 studiespesialiserende linjer eller tilsvarende.

Undervisninga på IB forgår på engelsk og følger internasjonale læreplaner som er utarbeidet av International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO). Studieretningen er vel ansett av næringsliv og høyere læreinstitusjoner verden over.

Strukturen på IB diplomprogram er forskjellig fra den vanlige norske utdanninga. Programmet tilbyr en større faglig dybde enn studiespesialiserende. IB tar sikte på å utdanne hele mennesket.

I tillegg til de seks fagene skriver elevene en forskningsoppgave, lærer kritisk tenking og gjennomfører samfunnsprosjekter.

Formålet med IB er å tilby et utfordrende utdanningsprogram som utdanner unge mennesker til livslang læring med hovedvekt på selvstendighet, refleksjon, kreativitet, omsorg og tverrkulturell forståelse.
